What is a Liège Waffle?
Great question! We promise we’re not trying to just be fancy, we wanted to bring a delicious food option to Greenville that only can be enjoyed at Mountain Goat! A Liège waffle is a style of waffle which originated in Liège, Belgium, that is not made from batter, rather from a yeasty dough with pearl sugar. Once cooked, it’s more similar to a sweet brioche bread than it is a typical waffle. The Liège waffle is thicker and more dense (and more satisfying!) than your typical waffle! We make our dough in house (a three hour process!) and then cook the dough on our 75 lb cast iron waffle iron each morning until 12pm to serve Greenville fresh, warm Liège waffles with a variety of toppings, sweet and savory, sure to please everyone!

Never tried a Liège waffle? We recommend starting with a nekked (plain waffle) or a chai cinnamon sugar (pictured below!) They’re great to get the full flavor of the waffle and also easy to carry around!
REHEATING YOUR FROZEN LIÈGE WAFFLES:
Toaster Oven (best for 1-2 waffles): Toast for 3-5 minutes like a good little eggo waffle until warmed through.
Conventional Oven (best for multiple waffles): Preheat oven 350. Place waffles on a sheet pan and heat for 5-8 minutes.
